The City of Adriekor is constructed around the rim of a volcanic valley. Its terraced megastructures are designed to radiate heat and deflect molten runoff. Among its engineering marvels includes the massive subterranean thermal powerplants that provide so much energy that even the poorest residents can afford technological luxuries such as environmental conditioning, high-speed exodianet access, and in-door entertainment facilities. Surplus energy is exported. Frequent eruptions in the valley may cause periods of lava showers during which landing and launching spacecraft is discouraged. However, when the skies are clear, vehicles benefit from thermal updrafts, counteracting the high gravity and reducing fuel costs to and from the city's spaceport.
