All-Terrain Multiped Vehicles are piloted craft that use powered legs to operate in surface environments.
These vehicles combine their adaptive legs and internal gyro technology to maintain balance while traversing uneven terrain that motor-vehicles could not. While they have maneuvering thrusters and self-righting routine, they have a tendency to fall over if traveling too fast or collide with other objects.
ATMVs are frequently armored to withstand weaponsfire and hazardous environments, and have several small hardpoints for weapons or utilities.
Their default weapons loadout include two antipersonnel cannons, two heavy anti-armor cannons, and two banks of missile launchers. However, less commonly they can be equipped with long-range coilgun cannons, short-range cutting beams, or even heavy sprayers for chemical warfare or firefighting.
While they make for excellent surface explorers due to their mobility and durability, they are more commonly used for military surface operations.

The ATMV's interior is a cramped pressurized chamber accessed through a ventral hatch with telescoping ladder. It can seat between one and two pilots. Since the cockpit is directly adjacent to the engine of the vehicle, it makes emergency repairs possible without exiting, however this this can make the cabin temperature uncomfortably hot.
