Railcars are high-velocity and low-power vehicles designed to move passengers or cargo between certain destinations connected by a rail. These cars can be mounted to the rail in sequence as a train, or independently. A railcar's wheels can move along the rail in either direction, are capable of handling curves, inclines, twists, or even small imperfections in the rail's shape. The car's cabin comes in a variety of configurations ranging from enclosed cargo bays, open cargo beds, passenger habitats, staff operations, and more. These are powered either by electrical energy induced through the rail, or by electrical engines in the cars, and are capable of being operated by pilots or by an automated system. Railcars are serviced by rail stations, which are destinations that can load or unload cargo or passengers from cars, or mount and unmount each car entirely. Railcars are most frequently used as industrial goods transportation or public transportation and are found in more permanent settlements such as colonies, cities, and mining operations. However, they are used on spaceborn objects as well including stations and even large capital ships. It is notable that while railcars are favored for their low cost and high reliability, they are easily sabotaged, and consequently are often retired once a road network, suborbital shuttle system, watership route, or other form of local transportation can be established.
Value:
Railcars can be strung along in long trains, allowing passengers to travel between cars through docking rings.
Railcars can be individually added or removed at railstations.
