Destroyer

Destroyers are large military craft at around 1000 meters. Proportionally they are not much smaller than cruisers, however, Destroyers are far more specialized. Destroyers are armed with extensive heavy weapons, torpedo bays, and powerful orbital bombardment cannons. Although they do have hangar bays, their complement of craft are usually limited to dropships and breach pods. Their function in a fleet is mostly to establish decisive control of an area by eliminating all opposing threats in space and on land, and then to make any attempt to retake the area too costly to consider. They are crewed by at least 600, although most destroyer crews complain that these craft are cramped.
