Cruisers are large military and support craft at 1500 meters in length, usually outfitted with advanced countermeasures, sensor suites, point defense, fighter craft, dropships, and drive inhibitors. Additionally, they carry heavy armaments and torpedo bays. Cruisers have crews of 1000 for a normal fleet support configuration.
Carrier variants add additional hangar bays for fighters, shuttles, dropships. Some carriers have hangars capable of housing transports and corvettes. Additionally, carriers frequently have a fleet of utility pods.
Liner variants are commercial luxury craft furnished to support hundreds of passengers. They serve much the same purpose as their bus or yacht counterparts, but the increased range, armaments, and the support of fighter wings means that they rarely need an escort.
Research variants are outfitted for deep space exploration. They feature state-of-the-art sensor suites, transmitters, survey shuttles, laboratory bays, and a wide array of probes. In addition, they house extensive manufacturing facilities, and large habitat bays.
